The Category Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of enterprise wide sourcing strategies for their assigned Categories within the TRIMEDX Supply Chain. Responsibilities include seeking out, sourcing, and delivering cost reduction initiatives, business process improvements, and supplier risk mitigations with focus on quality and compliance. The Category Manager will partner with internal stakeholders ensuring top supplier business needs are identified and met for all TRIMEDX customer sites. The Category Manager will manage key suppliers through Supplier Relationship Management best practices such as contract management, scorecards, business reviews and other methods required to ensure the company’s best interests are served. The Category Manager will ensure all governmental, local laws and codes in addition to business ethics are adhered to when developing sourcing strategies, selecting suppliers, and when conducting supplier contract negotiations.
The Category Manager should have a customer centric approach and work to proactively provide solutions for all internal and external customers. They should have the skill set and motivation to become the leading expert of the supplier landscape as well as exhibit strong communication and presentation skills as they represent the department and TRIMEDX as needed.
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana; we are seeking candidates that currently reside in the central Indiana region; within approximately a 70 mile range of Indianapolis. Our Central (Corporate) Office is located on the northwest side of Indianapolis. Position is hybrid (remote, occasional in-office, as well as required business travel which is approximately 10%).

Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing Development and Supplier Relationship Management
- Plan and execute strategic sourcing strategies for products and services in alignment with organizational mission and needs.
- Oversee all Supplier Evaluation and Monitoring activities for assigned categories in accordance with Supplier Quality policy and procedures.
- Generate annual cost savings and/or other cost efficiencies.
- Lead supplier contract negotiations.
- Manage key suppliers through Supplier Relationship Management practices such as contract management, scorecards, business reviews and other methods required to ensure the company’s best interests are served.
Voice of Customer Leadership
- Troubleshoot problems and resolve issues within TRIMEDX Operations.
- Provide support to site colleagues; develop communication, including feedback process, to incorporate operational and technical expertise in both strategy development and business processes.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, cross-functional colleagues, and suppliers.
Continuous Improvement
- Seek constant improvement for Supply Chain by participating in projects and meetings internally, with suppliers, and across the company.
- Provide direction for Supply Chain regarding supplier selection, internal processes, efficiency, accuracy, connectivity, and other improvement initiatives.
- Drive improvement initiatives in Quality, Reporting, Cost Reduction, Procedures, Supplier Connectivity, etc.

Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain in a federally regulated industry required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience leading teams
- Work experience in Healthcare Supply Chain preferred with knowledge of or exposure to Clinical Engineering
- CPM and/or APICS certification preferred
- Proficient skill level of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to perform research and complex problem-solving
- Proven experience and ability to simultaneously manage diverse functions
- Experience managing improvement initiatives; Lean experience preferred
- Experience managing a team in during a growth phase preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to develop and nurture trusting relationships with vendors
- Demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel >10%
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or business related field required or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
